Jumat, 2 Desember 2022 bertempat di Hotel Unhas diselenggarakan Fokus Group Disscussion (FGD) tentang peringkat Webometrik wesite universitas hasanuddin.. Kegiatan yang dibuka oleh Prof. Sumbangan Baja, Ph.D., Sekretaris Universitas dihadiri oleh Direktur Direktorat Sistem dan Teknologii Infomasi, Dr. Adi Paudu, M.Eng., Ketua Tim pokja pengembangan Website Universitas Hasanuddin, Dr. Muhammad Nizwar, ST.,M.Eng. juga sejumlah kasubdit dan tenaga Tim Teknis Expert dan admin website masing-masing Fakultas.
Pada awal pengantarnya saat membuka acara, Prof Sumbangan menyatakan bahwa Pengembangan website kita perlu dilakukan karena webometric masuk dalam salah satu program Rektor Unhas menuju universitas kelas dunia (WCU). Peningkatan persaingan global dewasa ini mendorong perguruan tinggi di dunia dan di Indonesia agar mampu ikut bersaing dengan penilaian Multi Criteria Decission Analysis (MCDA) dengan universitas kelas dunia (World Class University/WCU).
Diakui bahwa peringkat kita dalam webometric turun hingga peringkat 17 padahal beberapa tahun lalu peringkat kita pernah mencapai 7 (tujuh). Karena itu, mengingat pentingnya hal ini jadi kami menghimbau kepada seluruh tenaga tim teknis website lingkup Unhas agar lebih serius menanganinya. Insya Allah kita punya budget untuk ini dan kita siap mendanai kebutuhannya, sahut sekretaris Universitas ini
Selanjutnya Ketua Tim Pokja Pengembangan Website Unhas, Dr. Muhammad Nizwar mengatakan bahwa
Kelemahan pemeringkatan webometrics terletak pada penggunaan metode yang dipakai dalam proses pemeringkatan dan penggunaan tool untuk pengumpulan data. Seperti diketahui indikator dari penilaian webometrics adalah meliputi size dengan kuota persentase 20 persen, visibility dengan bobot 50 persen, rich files sebanyak 15 persen, dan scholar dengan kuota nilai 15 persen.
“Untuk mencapai tingkat visibilitas 50% itu diusahakan website Unhas punya back-link yang dapat diakses pada website universitas lain yang berkelas atau intitusi lain”. Ujarnya.
