FGD ini dilakasanakan di ruang pertemuan UPT Perpustakaan Unhas untuk memperoleh data akurat yang dari diskusi sekelompok pustakawan, memperdalam kualitas informasi menyingkap berbagai aspek, fenomena tentang manajemen mutu perpustakaan, sehingga fenomena dan masalah yang ditemukan dapat didefenisikan dan diberi penjelasan.Materi workshop dibawakan oleh Dr. Arsyad Genda, M.A., staf pengajar departemen Sosiologi Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Unhas dan diikuti oleh Kepala Tata Usaha serta seluruh Kepala Sub Unit di lingkup UPT Perpustakaan dan sejumlah staf.Nurhasnah, koordinator Unit Penjaminan Mutu Perpustakaan mengatakan “kegiatan ini dilaksanakan untuk menjaga kualitas manajemen mutu perpustakaan unhas tetap baik dan meningkat. Tahun lalu (2020), Alhamdulillah kita memperoleh akreditas A dari Lembaga Akreditasi Perpustakaan PNRI. Ini indikator bahwa perpustakaan kita sudah cukup bagus dalam hal manajemen.Saat memberi materi Arsyad Genda mengatakan bahwa penerapan pendekatan proses Sistem Manajemen Mutu ISO 9001 memungkin perpustakaan kita untuk : (1) Memahami dan secara konsisten dapat memenuhi persyaratan dan meningkatkan (improve) produk dan atau layanan; (2) mempertimbangkan proses dalam hal penambahan nilai pada organisasi (khususnya pemustaka); (3) Capaian kinerja proses yang efektif dan (4) Peningkatan proses layanan perpustakaan yg didasari oleh evaluasi data dan informasi.Lebih lanjut Arsyad menjelaskan bahwa organisasi perpustakaan itu haruslah (a) Menentukan kompetensi yang diperlukan orang-orang yang dibawah kendali organisasi (b) Memastikan bahwa orang-orang ini kompeten atas dasar pendidikan, pelatihan, atau pengalaman; (c) di mana berlaku, mengambil tindakan untuk memperoleh kompetensi yang diperlukan, dan mengevaluasi efektivitas tindakan yang diambil; (d) Menyimpan informasi terdokumentasi yang sesuai, sebagai bukti kompetensi.Semua ini mengacu pada klausul 7.2 tentang kompetensi Dr. Fierenziana G. Junus, M.Hum. – Kepala Perpustakaan – via zoom cloud, sangat menyambut baik dan memberi apresiasi kegiatan ini dapat berjalan dengan baik hingga akhir acara.
