Selasa 19 Desember 2023, Duta Besar Prancis untuk Indonesia H.E. Fabien Penone menyempatkan mengunjungi Warung Prancis Universitas Hasanuddin setelah melakukan pertemuan kerjasama dengan Rektor Unhas di Ruang kerja lantai 8 Gedung Rektorat.
Dalam kesempatannya di French Corner, Dubes ini menyampaikan berbagai hal di antaranya peluang studi mahasiswa Indonesia khususnya Unhas untuk mendapatkan beasiswa dan melanjutkan studinya di negeri La France tersebut. La France adalah salah satu julukan negara prancis yang berasal dari bahasa Jerman, Frank berarti manusia bebas.
Sejumlah mahasiswa dan dosen Department Sastra Barat Roman Fakultas Sastra Unhas pun menyempatkan untuk berbincang dan bertanya secara personal pada tamu tim kedutaan. Mereka pun diberi kesempatan untuk berpartisipasi pada beberapa kegiatan yang akan digelar Kedutaan Prancis di Makassar tahun Depan (2024).
Turut hadir menerima delegasi saat itu adalah kepala Perpustakaan Universitas Hasanuddin, Dr. Fierensiana G. Junus, M. Hum.; Direktur Warung Prancis, Masdiana, S.S.,M.Hum., Ketua Departemen Sastra Barat Roman, Dr. Prasuri Kuswarini, MA.
Sementara itu beberapa delegasi yang turut hadir mendampingi Duta Besar Prancis di Fench Corner antara lain Jules Irrmann (Director of Institure Francais Indonesia), Marie-Salome Rinuy (Premiere Secretaire), Charlotte Esnou (Cultural Atche), Prof. Dr. Ambo Tuwo, DEA (Konsular Kehormatan Prancis di Makassar), Ima Sarro (Director of AF, Makassar), dan Fathur Rahman (Assisten Konsular Kehormatan).
Sebelum meninggalkan French Corner, Dubes Fabien Penone memeberi kesan di selembar karton putih bertuliskan “Vive I’Universit’ UNHAS !!!”, Hiduplah Universitas Hasanuddin. Ia pun bersama tim kedutaan lainnya menyempatkan berfoto dengan mahasiswa dan staf pengajar departemen sastra prancis.

On Tuesday 19 December 2023, French Ambassador to Indonesia H.E. Fabien Penone took the time to visit Hasanuddin University’s French Corner after holding a collaborative meeting with the Unhas Rector in its workroom on the 8th floor of the Rectorate Building.
On his occasion at the French Corner, the Ambassador conveyed various things, including study opportunities for Indonesian students, especially Unhas, to get scholarships and continue their studies in the country of La France. La France is one of the nicknames of the French country which comes from German, Frank, means free man.
Several students and lecturers from the Department of Western Romance Literature, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, also took the time to chat and ask personal questions to the embassy guests. They were also allowed to participate in several activities held by the French Embassy in Makassar next year (2024).
Also present to receive the delegation at that time was the head of the Hasanuddin University Library, Dr. Fierensiana G. Junus, M. Hum.; Director of Warung Prancis, Masdiana, S.S., M.Hum., Head of the Department of French Literature, Dr. Prasuri Kuswarini, MA., and others
Meanwhile, several delegates who were present to accompany the French Ambassador at French Corner included Jules Irrmann (Director of Institute Français Indonesia), Marie-Salome Rinuy (Premiere Secretaire), Charlotte Esnou (Cultural Atche), Prof. Dr. Ambo Tuwo, DEA (Honorary French Consular in Makassar), Ima Sarro (Director of AF, Makassar), and Fathur Rahman (Honorary Consular Assistant).
Before leaving the French Corner, Ambassador Fabien Penone impressed on a piece of white cardboard the words “Vive I’Universit’ UNHAS!!!”, Long live Hasanuddin University. He and other embassy teams also took time to take photos with students and the teaching staff of the French literature department.
