Education Tour of Students of SMA Negeri 21 Makassar at the Unhas Library
A total of 26 students from SMA Negeri 21 Makassar visited the Hasanuddin University Library. They were accompanied by two librarians and a teacher who supervised extracurricular activities. From the start of their visit, they stated the purpose was to get information and learn about the benefits of accessing information in the library and gain knowledge of the types of services that readers can use at the Hasanuddin University library.
Several coordinators and library staff in the meeting room jointly welcomed their arrival. Dr. Iskandar, who represented the leadership, conveyed several tricks so that students can spend more time in the library, one of which is that the collection is organized and made more diverse, not just textbooks in study packages. The two school library rooms should also be made more comfortable so that students are interested in entering and feel at home. “Third, the library should accommodate the needs of users as far as possible, not only regarding the provision of references but also the comfort of study spaces and the provision of resting places, so that its recreational function is visible,” said Dr. Iskandar is also the coordinator of the South Sulawesi Regional Higher Education Library Forum.
After being officially received, this group of students immediately visited several service points and reading corners, including circulation services, reference collection services, special collections (grey literature), Sulawesiana collection services, and reserve collection services. They also visited several international corners, including French Corner, BI Corner, Braile Corner, and other reading corners.
